Sept 19, 2009 - KFC Community Fun Fly
We flew 136 people today with seven aircraft - all using 8 pilots. It was
tiring - but we had a ball. While Keith Watson and his better-half
took care of ticket sales, the Air Cadets helped people in and out of
airplanes. Anne-Marie supplied the much needed coffee (some from Timmies
too) so Lorne and Howard could gas airplanes.
As proceeds from the event went to the Kingston Chief of Police Scholarship
Fund at St. Lawrence College, some of the local area finest were
there.
The 15-20 minute flight took the members of the public up to 1,500 feet
high, over the city to Fort Henry - and then north to Kingston Mills. At
Kingston Mills we turned around to a long straight-in to runway 25. The
folks at Flight Service kept us all safe and organized.
