- Remembrance Day Fly-by.

Nov 11, 2011: Today's cenotaph flyby went well in spite of the blustery weather we had this morning. While Tony had the film crew from Cogeco up in AIQ, the remaining four performed our run as we had practiced. We took off on runway 25 with the lead airplane slowing up enough that the other airplanes could catch up by the time we left the zone to the north-east. We came back into the zone over Marysville on Wolfe Island overflying their cenotaph at 10:54 am, and then Kingston's cenotaph by 10:57 am. We changed course slightly to then overfly the cenotaph at Wilton for 11:07 am. We did a reverse-order break over the Camden East airfield and landed back in Kingston individually.

The whole thing went well. Thanks to all the volunteers and pilots who made this happen. Cogeco TV did a nice piece on both the Club and the flyby event as seen here. Needless to say, we think we'll do it again next year..

Oct 29, 2011: Here's a few pictures of our four airplanes on the ramp getting ready for the practice formation flight. The real fly-by will be on Friday morning Nov 11, 2011. Skuby's idea was to give us pilots an understanding of the spacing and relative location of each airplane in the formation - before we took off. That's why the the first picture shows the airplanes placed like they are on the ramp. It must have worked, as the other pictures taken by both Gord Lendrum in Dave's Cardinal and Lorne's pictures from below - show us in not too bad a shape.
