: Picton Fly-out Breakfast

Eight airplanes from the Kingston Flying Club made it over to Picton for breakfast this past Sunday. Dave Tisdale had sent out  a quick email a few days before the event and with good weather scheduled, we ended up having a great turn-out. It was not only a clear, beautiful spring day, we also got to meet Gord's new friend Roxanne. She's a great girl.

Our stay in Picton ended up being a bit longer than expected though. While we were eating in Picton, the fellow who owns that yellow Hummelbird ultra-light, flipped it upside down on Kingston's runway 19 around 11:00 in the morning. Tom and Mark found out about Kingston's airport closure on their way home from Picton - and radioed us who were still on the ground, to stay there. While Mark and Tom came back, Brad Flowers had the good sense to call Kingston's FSS and request an update from them when a runway opened up again. Dwight called around 12:10 pm, and we we're off again.  With 19 closed, we all got some crosswind landing practice - landing on runway 25 with the winds 200 @ 12.

It turned out the fellow in the ultra-light was unhurt which provided a big sigh of relief around the Club.
