June 25th, 2005 - The Balme Strawberry Social

Nine airplanes - including the card dealers, flew the Poker Run today. At the end of the event  we all sat down under a white tent at the Club and were treated to Strawberries and ice-cream by Charles and Eithne Balme.  Life can be good.  The fellow with the Pelican airplane was the smartest of the bunch - he flew the entire Run with the doors off. A much cooler solution on a hot summer afternoon. Ron Stokes brought his grandson Matthew to the Poker Run. Matthew just recently completed his Recreational Pilots License - congrats Matthew!

The afternoon Strawberry Social played host to about forty people with everyone seeming to have a really good time. Winfield Woodman took home a nice prize as well - he won the free hour flying draw, open to all flyers who were present during today's event.
