Flight Training

 How do I get started?

Q     An intro flight is the first step. (A 30-45 minute flight during which you get to take control and get a feel for the plane.)

Q     After that you can continue with regular lessons.

Can I take a passenger on my intro flight or lesson?

We do allow passengers on intro flights and on some lessons. It is at the discretion of the flight instructor.

When does the next course start?

You may begin training at any time.  You fly when you want, how often you want.  See below for information on the frequency of our ground school courses.

How long does it take to get your license?

That depends entirely on your schedule and how much time you have to devote to training.  A Private License can be obtained in as little as 3 months, the average is 9-12 months.  The Commercial License requires quite a bit more flight time, the average time frame for that license is 12-18 months after the private license is complete.

How long are lessons?

Q     In the beginning of your training (first 10-15 hours), lessons consist of a 30-40 minute ground briefing followed by a 50-75 minute flight.

Q     When scheduling lessons into your day, you’ll need to plan on being here for approximately 2 ˝ hours.

Flight Training (con't)

Q     As your training progresses you will need less ground briefing time, and sometimes none at all. At that time your lessons may only take 1 ˝ - 2 hours.

How much will that cost?

·        In the early stages of your training, your lessons will total anywhere from $195-$230 approximately. This will gradually lower as your training progresses.

·        Once you reach the solo stage your lessons will run from approximately $135 (solo) to $190 (dual)

How do I pay?

There are a number of payment options available:

Q     You may pay as you go - paying for each lesson as you receive it.

Q     You may run an account with us (guaranteed with a credit card) where you may pay for your lessons on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

Q     You may put a sum of money on account with us and draw from that.

Q     You may choose whatever option is most convenient for you. We accept cash, cheque, Interac, VISA, and MasterCard.

Q     We do not offer any form of financing at this time.

When does your next Ground School start?

Q     We offer ground school classes on a by-demand basis. Once we have 4-5 students requesting a course we will set one up.
