The costs associated with keeping an office open at Kingston's Norman Rogers Airport is not inconsequential. We as a group have to pay for that space, so the Club in turn polls it's membership each year to help defray those costs in the form of yearly fees.

We have three categories of membership; Regular, Social and, Student. Each category is focused on specific member groups within the Club. Those folks who own their own airplanes often don't need the benefit of access to Club aircraft. On the other hand, access to Club aircraft with it's extra responsibility of Club voting rights is an important part of many Club members flying routine.

The $50 student membership fee is waived for someone who is included in both categories.  So a university student who already has an RPP or a PPL will be required to pay the $50 fee as would a non-student who is pursuing an RPP or PPL.

Student membership does not entitle the member to vote at General Meetings nor to be appointed to the Board of the KFC.
